Organization admins can invite people by email or create a reusable link. The two methods handle access differently. Members cannot send invitations.

Invite by email

  1. Open Settings → People and select the Invites & requests tab, or select Invite people from any People tab.
  2. Select the Invite by email tab.
  3. Enter one or more email addresses. Press Enter or a comma after each address, or paste a list separated by commas, spaces, or new lines.
  4. Choose the Access, Roles, and Groups these people should receive. Use Create role or Create group in those menus to add one without leaving the invitation.
  5. Select Send invites.
Everyone in the batch receives the same access, roles, and groups. If those choices would leave someone with no permissions, a warning appears before you send.

Choose access

  • Trial access: New people start a trial. People who already have access keep it.
  • Stakeholder seat: Limits the person to Stakeholder-eligible permissions inside this organization.
  • Legal seat: Uses the person’s existing Legal seat or reserves an available Legal seat from your organization. Each invited person needs one available seat, so this option is unavailable when you invite more people than you have Legal seats available.
See Stakeholder seats and Roles and permissions for details.

Review pending invitations

Pending invitations appear on the Invites & requests tab with their assigned access and roles. A Legal seat reservation also appears there. Select Cancel invite to revoke a pending invitation. Canceling an invitation with a reserved Legal seat releases the reservation. A shared invite link lets anyone with the link join your organization.
  1. Open Settings → People and select the Invites & requests tab, or select Invite people.
  2. Select the Share invite link tab.
  3. If your organization uses roles, review the access and roles shown for future members. Organizations with SSO or SCIM can select Edit automatic member access to change them in Settings → People → Settings.
  4. Select Create link, then copy and share it.
Automatic member access also applies to future members who join through Single Sign-On (SSO) or System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM). Changes do not affect existing members.
Legal seats require an email invitation. A shared link cannot reserve or assign one.

Accept an invitation

The invited person opens the link, signs in or creates an account, and confirms that they want to join. Email invitations work only for the address named in the invitation. After they join, confirm their access and roles on the Members tab in Settings → People.
